Origami Owl / Think Goodness Closing Down?

August 3, 2023 by Jennylou

You many have heard words recently that Think Goodness is closing down its doors. Think Goodness (what is now the Company name with several brands including Origami Owl Jewelry under it) announced changes that will go into effect as of September 1, 2023.

So are they really shutting their doors? Read on to find out.

In the first day of August 2023, 12 years and 6 months after I joined what was then only Origami Owl Jewelry, Think Goodness Purpose Partners received the news of upcoming changes.

Think Goodness has been a long time member of the DSA (Direct Selling Association) and has been a company referred to by many as an MLM (multi-level marketing company), due to its function of not only sales of physical products but also a company having a component of sponsorship and recruitment as part of its business model.

As of September 2023, they will embody a Single-Level Distribution Model.

Think Goodness will be transitioning into what they see as the future of direct sales: a single level distribution model. What this means is that there will no longer be the concept of an upline or downline or compensation based on such structures. A push for sponsoring or recruiting by the company and their reps will no longer play a role directly or implied with Think Goodness. The focus of Think Goodness will be on sales of their products under their Family of Brands and its growth within their respective industries:

In 2022, the jewelry industry was a $91.5 billion industry, up $5 billion from 2021. By 2026, it is expected to grow to $330 billion.

In 2022, the beauty industry was a $98.3 billion globally. By 2031, it is expected to grow to $272 billion.

The cosmetics industry was $72.74 billion in 2022 with clean beauty in great growth year after year. By 2030, as consumers are more aware of what they put on, it is expected to grow over $114 billion.

The wellness and supplements industry is a $39.4 billion industry in the US alone and that too is forecasted for great growth.

With uplines and downlines gone + sales of products in growing industries here to stay, what now?

Every current and future Purpose Partner (aka sales rep) will be at a single level compensation. All pay is primarily based on personal sales and no more team activity will determine the earnings or titles of their Partners.

  1. No more encouragement or push to meet numbers at the end of the month or recruit. What a relief! I honestly hated this part of the business model. Though I know that some wanted the push and guidance and would thrive in their sales if I “coached ” them, the majority, (including myself from my uplines), did not appreciate it. I do apologize to those who joined me these past years and did not find the push they wanted as I was not that.

2. The back office systems will change for those who have and will run Think Goodness as a Purpose Partner. The shopping experience both for the Purpose Partners and Customers will also change. In short, new system and technology will have enhanced features for a more seamless experience. I heard something about Cart Sharing – more on that another time.

3. For Influencers or Affiliate Marketers or those who do not see Think Goodness as business to run and cultivate a customer base with, there will be a more focused opportunity for you to cash in on Think Goodness products that result in sales via your referral links posted on your socials, videos, and other sites online.

4. Starting September 1st, all sales made by Purpose Partners will yield at 35% commission across the board – all the time. No more less than 35% commissions for not meeting a certain level or title for the month. And when a Purpose Partner purchases for themselves, they receive 35% off retail pricing on their products. Bonus: After reaching $3500 in retail sales, Purpose Partners jump up to 40% commission and 40% personal discount. Affiliates will yield 15% commission on their sales generated through their links and have a 15% discount for themselves.

5. On top of earned commissions from personal sales of Purpose Partners, there will be bonuses earned for new customer sales, new customer subscriptions, and referrals into Think Goodness Family of Brands for both Purpose Partners and Affilliates.

6. No longer wait more than a day to get paid. Up to this point, PayQuicker has been the only system where commissions are paid out and forwarded to our banks. Soon, we will have the option to receive our earnings via Venmo, PayPal, and get paid in as short as a day. Gone is a week of waiting for payday! For those who stay with PayQuicker, the wait is a week.

So there you go.. is Think Goodness closing down?

Think Goodness is NOT CLOSING down.

Think Goodness with Origami Owl and its other brands are not closing its doors. The model as we have known it since its beginning in 2012 – the MLM model where recruiting and team sales play a role in how much you get paid and what’s measured as success in any MLM company – that will be GONE and coming to an end with the end of August 2023.

Me? Will LocketsandCharms.com be shutting down?

I’m here to stay!

  1. Sales are good.
  2. The part I hated (the recruiting part) is gone.
  3. The ick of MLM (understandably so) will no longer taint the good that Origami Owl has always been to me – and thousands of others – much longer. I have always shared the products because the products are beautiful and of great quality. I never shared because I just wanted to make money off other people.
  4. The ability for anyone to make some money through sales of products by sharing our sites and links (never hounding or being that annoying person online or in person) remains a reality.
  5. I will no longer be making a commission on the downline that I have but I am ok with that. Yes, it means that I will make less now unless I make up for it in personal sales. But overall, I am happy with the more good for the whole earning 35%-40% on their sales. I believe the good to the majority will yield more than the loss to a few who earned a downline check. I do think that sales will grow company-wide and mine as well due to these changes.
  6. BONUS: No longer can a potential customer – or venue – say NO and our wonderful products because Think Goodness is an MLM company. As of September 1st, 2023, WE ARE NOT an MLM! We are straight independent commission sales reps with Think Goodness as a Brand Partner or Affilliate and I appreciate your continued support.

I’m Back!! Life Update: The New Normal {COVID-19 + Baby #4}

April 1, 2020 by Jennylou

No, it’s no April Fools. I am back to doing more with Origami Owl.

I have not updated nor posted anything new on here since Christmas time. I tell myself, “Today, I will!” and then LIFE happens. Honestly, it’s the present, more urgent, and the priorities that that keep me from doing a lot less than I want to on here. It’s not as easy as “If I want to make it happen, it will happen.” If you’ve lived enough life, you will find that wanting to do something is simply not enough. Many other things take precedence and the things you need to do takes up more hours than the things you want to do.

With that said, I am only on here right now because I am up at 630am in San Diego typing on my phone while the baby is in his bassinet asleep within my arm’s reach.

Speaking of baby, we have added to our nest another human. We named him Maverick Eli, before I even knew a movie was coming out with that name, and even before I watched the movie Top Gun that this Maverick guy is based on. I almost changed my baby’s name to avoid the perception of him being named after a movie after I heard about the movie, but in the final hour, we kept the name.

I’m sitting on my bed as he dozes in and out of sleep while I also take this time to express milk. In about an hour, our little space of a home will be up and about and its humans will be pulling me into a million directions and duties #becauselife.

Pregnancies are always pretty hard on me and most days, I barely get by. First trimester is extreme morning sickness all day and the lack of food I’m getting in. Second trimester is growing pains associated with my growing belly and with my loose ligaments. Third trimester is even more pain and with it, the pressures of watching my sugars in diet to avoid complications associated with gestational diabetes and potentially having a big baby. Even the sugar in toothpaste seemed to make my sugar levels go high. Throughout the whole pregnancy, I said, “I think this is my last (and fourth) child. I think I’ll document it with daily vlogs.” That didn’t happen.

Baby #3 is almost 3!

When the baby came out on the last Sunday of February, I said, “I’ll relish and deep dive, keep record of my new mom moments and share this beautiful life like I once did on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. As I mentally prepared for it, hubby brought me the news about a potential pandemic that was brewing. I didn’t know what to make of it but he went into prep mode almost immediately to help ensure that the baby, me, and the three older kids would be alright when he returned to work today. We didn’t hoard or panic or anything. We simply made sure our needs, necessities, and most important things including our school aged kids were home with us by the close of the month. We stopped taking them to our homeschooling co-op and enrichment classes at their charter campuses before anyone really knew what to do with the news of Covid-19. Weeks before school closures went into effect for my state of California, shelter in place, social distancing and lockdown was already self- imposed on ourselves. We’ve now been home for a full month except for trips to Costco and CVS and that was also included daddy as he too was home with us due to paternity leave.

One may assume that with all things to a halt in March, and lesser and lesser expectations of us from the outside world (and a new baby that sleeps all day), that it would be easier to get back to my promotions of lockets and charms due to more time. Not true. The new normal that was unfolding before us – things forced to close down, people losing jobs, so many getting sick and dying, the reports of the economy tanking – was mentally taking its hit on me. The last thing I was wanting to do was promote jewelry online while people aren’t able to get their basic necessities in real life.

A month after shutting ourselves in, the pandemic has only gotten bigger. More people are unemployed, people are still not finding basic necessities and some are worried about rent, food and money. So why am I here? To make a buck? No. If it was about the money, I would not be here. I don’t get rich casually selling lockets and charms online.

I’m here because like many others, a part of me wants to go back to some normalcy – what it was before the pandemic – and for me, even before this fourth pregnancy. I would like to go back to the days when I could share a locket and all the pretty little things that make you or someone special real happy, and at the same time, doing so does not display a sense of naivety or tone deaf to what’s going on in the world right now.

If I wanted to make a buck, selling cute face masks on Etsy or in local groups would take care of that need and fill my love of sewing. There’s much need for masks and more so when the CDC contradicts themselves and confirms what logic, science, and almost everyone already knew: face masks 😷 work.

If you’re reading this as a long term customer or someone new to me, know that this is what I’ve been doing since 2012 and not something that I sprung into irrationally due to a pandemic or a way to take money from the most vulnerable. Also know that’s you don’t have to buy anything from me. In fact, I don’t want you to buy anything from me unless your household is safe and secure in all your needs, especially financial and emotional needs. Though I’d love the sales as we too have a reduction in income due to Covid19, please no stress buying here. Save it or even donate to those in need.

If you do want to make a purchase, my site is up 24/7. No pressure and no push. The lockets and charms are available and ready at http://locketsandcharms.origamiowl.com whenever you are.

Even at this time, when they too have taken a decline in sales and bottom line, the Origami Owl company continues to give back to many causes including helping those affected by COVID-19. They are giving back 100% of proceeds from pieces purchased – pieces inspired by the sacrifices of those in the frontlines- to those hit by the pandemic.

In these times of uncertainty, unsung heroes are rising all around. Help us spread kindness through meaningful gifts of love, hope, gratitude and inspiration. Say “I see you” and “thank you” with customizable jewelry.

In our continuing efforts to be a Force For Good, 100% of the Profits from this product [and other products noted on our site] will bless families in need during the uncertainty of the coronavirus (COVID-19) through our Live Sparkly campaign.

To learn how you can help bless a family in your community visit: HTTPS://WWW.LIVESPARKLY.COM/COVID19/

The sets were brought to life to do good while spreading a little love and joy to those receiving it from family, friends, Independent reps for Origami Owl, and amazing people just like you.

I move forward into the new normal with all of you, taking with us what we can before it all went down, while forging ahead with the grit and grace that is needed to make it through the coming days of the new normal.

*baby is waking up*

This is my view at the moment 💕

If you’ve made it this far in reading, I thank you. Thank you for your presence here and thank you for being with me in the days ahead.

I do plan to share with you a bit of what my days entail and what “normal” will be for me, on my social media accounts.

For those here since the beginning of my Origami Owl journey, you may have noticed that I have become more private in the recent years and have significantly cut myself off of releasing content with my face and content overall on my YouTube channel and have reserved my Origami Owl social accounts to focusing only on the products, but with this craving of mine for connection – and you probably have it too- I’ll be sharing more about me, life, and the things that really matter daily. So if this interests you, join me and see you next time on social: @locketsncharms on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and maybe even YouTube. Make sure to say hello. I’ll feel a tad better I’m not just talking to myself 😂

Until next time, be blessed and strive to be a blessing.

Sincerely,

Jennylou as @locketsNcharms

Origami Owl ReLaunched – What Does This Mean?

    June 23, 2025 by Jennylou

By the time you land here, you have probably have heard that Think Goodness is no more. If you have not heard, now you know.

So what does this mean for YOU – and for US?

Here are the THREE things that you really need to know going forward:

    1. My shop link https://my.thinkgoodness.com/locketsncharms where you have shopped with me is no longer a thing. The Think Goodness LINK DOES NOT WORK anymore — and if by some glitch of the matrix that it does, do not believe it. You are not shopping with me or the company and you probably won’t get the product you thought you ordered.

    2. You can STILL purchase the lockets and charms you want and love. Origami Owl’s Headquarter’s doors remain OPEN. They will continue to bring us the beautiful jewelry we all have come to know and love. Origami Owl remains THE one for lockets and charms; always imitated but never duplicated. They are here to stay!

    3. I am YOUR personal lockets and charms lady. Back to basics! Remember when we first started? It was 2012 and people were able to order online with the company and on our sites but the preferred and best experience was the human touch of Independent Designers, as we were called back then. We walked you through the sometimes confusing process like a friend would at private home party or in a public event such as a street fair. I would place your orders to HQ for you and your order would get shipped directly to your home. I may not be able to host private in home parties or public events near you but what I am STILL able to do is provide you a great customer experience, helping you every step of the way if need be, to tell your story through jewelry and place your orders for you. I am here to serve YOU.

Ready to shop with me? Click >>> HERE <<<< to see HOW.

Thank you for considering me as your personal lockets and charms lady.
You can always reach me via text at +1 858 243 4568 OR email me at locketsandcharms@gmail.com
