We are all busy. Things get pushed aside, pushed to later, and sometimes it gets used to never despite our purest intentions. People love a great deal and people love free but I have learned that people are not as easily wanting to give up their time for a great deal and even for free products. This is the case for many who are interested in hosting Origami Owl Jewelry Bars. They love the products, they love giving and receiving it but how can they fit it in their schedule and the schedule of their friends? One way us to beat the problem of time of location is to host a Facebook Jewelry Bar.
People have given tutorials on how to conduct the perfect Facebook party with the perfect pictures and words to say but in the end, found it to be a waste of time. My hope with this post is to share with you tips on how to make your Facebook party better, attended, and more profitable. Many of these tips are from Senior Director Carla New & Heidi Russell with a bit of it from me and here I share them with you.
Before the Facebook Jewelry Bar
Tip # 1. Invite people 2 different ways – personal FB message and postcard, FB message or phonetical or text.
Do not invite 500+ people on your FB friends list. It is not genuine and not beneficial. FB mass invite will not work, FB mass message convo will not work. Indv invite them by PM, text, postcard.
To increase turnout on FB parties 1. invite several ways (already mentioned above) 2. Red Stamp. An app where you can text them with ecard to remind them of the FB Party.
Tip # 2. Be in a partnership with the Hostess. You are not to do all the work before, during and after the FB Jewelry Bar. Do not force the hostess as that would naturally lead to such situations. We love to make Facebook Jewelry Bars to be convenient, easy, simple and fun and it is – but kindly decline if a Hostess is not committed to personally inviting people in 2 different ways and participating.
Tip #3. Hostess Coaching starts immediately. Face to face is best. Phone is second. If they do not have time to meet with you to hostess coach over coffee and for her to understand that this is to have an event that is best turnout for everyone’s time, probably do not want to do the online party. In a regular jewelry bar, you are lugging all your stuff to her house for a couple hours. Though you are not lugging your jewelry in an online party, you are taking time out to other important things. We are all busy. Your time is precious. Ensure the best turnout by committed people.
Tip #4. Commit to date and time for the FB party and write it down on the calendar. While laying out the game plan, commit to her being engaged on the event wall. Just like a Jewelry bar in home, the hostess is there to mingle, engage, connect everyone in attendance. This is the same set up. Start an Event and have people show up in their pajamas.Tip #5. Decide the length of the party. Some FB parties will do a short event such as posts spanning 1 – 2 hours. Some events are week long and the Ind. Designer and Hosts will post throughout the week. Whichever it is, make sure both of you are committed to be engaging. You can post questions, games, and she can answer or have a set of questions or things for her to post.
Pointers to make it a smooth sailing Facebook Jewelry Bar
Tip # 6. Plan. Plan to execute the plan. Execute the plan. Add pictures and some content before adding or inviting people to the events page. Nothing is more awkward than being invited to and added into an empty invite or online party. Also, keep in mind that those already invited or added may get FB notifications each and every move your or the Hostess makes such as the posting of pictures and info on the page – information that should have already been there. Excessive notifications can become annoying and have people not take part BEFORE they even know what it is and before it really starts. Think of putting up the necessary information BEFORE adding people.
Tip # 7. Have a folder on your desktop of things that you will use for the online FB party…. have a itinerary (use the JB steps from the back office) and have the photos and links ready to go on a folder.
Tip # 8. Tell them about our stories, better yet, use links of the videos we have in the back office. Visuals are great. Use excellent our company product pictures. Create likeable content, post how-to’s (how to wear our jewelry (we have tons of pics we can take from the o2 main FB page). You may include parts of our FAQ (on the bottom of all of our replicated websites), post fun quotes, trivia, games and o2 stories.
Tip # 9.. Ask for outside orders, reward referrals, offer to mail them catalogs or supplements but most of all, make a connection.
Tip # 10. Reward attendees with free charms for those participating/participated in the event or those winning the games, and those who earned them for attending or bringing their friends along to the FB party.Origami Owl does not give us an exact layout on how to conduct a FB party as we are to follow what we do at a regular jewelry bar – and we are all different in style and audience – but my hope is that all the above is taken into account before you partner with a Hostess on an online Jewelry Bar. Just because it is an online FB, do not commit steps of a Jewelry Bar. Use the layout of the JB Steps from our back office. Online invites are online and many times, because it is online, it may be out of sight and out of mind. The goal is to make it real to them (hostess and attendees) and as close as possible to a live FB Jewelry Bar. Again, the success of a jewelry bar – online and on location – is primarily on the partnership between the ID and the Hostess – so keep those ties tight!
