Back in July 1987, I came to America and months later, I was introduced to the American holiday known as Thanksgiving.
The image of pies and cornucopias shown to me in my 1st grade class brought on curiosity. The only thing I understood and knew on the picture of a Thanksgiving table was the pumpkin. We eat a type of pumpkin in a Filipino dish called Pakbit. A turkey? No, I didn’t know what that was but I knew chicken. We raised chickens back in the Philippines.
Over the decades, the once unknown images has made its way to my own Thanksgiving tables and now it can be part of a locket in new sparkly charms.
As we’ve moved on from Halloween and now going into Christmas, let’s not miss the symbols, the wonder, and the treasure of the Thanksgiving holiday. Let us take the time to give thanks. For one, I am thankful to be here, a part of the American fabric in a country that I now call home.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours ❤️.
Love,
The Raya Family
PS.
And while supplies last, there’s this customer special as our way of saying Thanks.

I came to America July 1987 with very limited English an exposure to all things American was a delight. Despite the occasional confusion, I found almost everything amusing. The automatic doors at the airport was pretty awesome to a 5 year old. Living in cramped apartment complexes was another new thing, one I rather not have encountered. Soon, I entered school and everyday was a source of delight and fear all wrapped into one. With all things new, nothing helped faster assimilation and learning of the “American ways” more than watching what was on TV. I loved watching Punky Brewster, Full House, Family Matters and the like. Sesame Street was cool too but my mind could not wrap around how puppets were able to talk and walk without human help. I was that kid 🙂
Just a few months later, the tube dawned Christmas shows, specials, and those vintage cartoons made via screen by screen shots of play dough or felt people. I was totally drawn to the classics such as Rudolf the Red-nose Reindeer and the Abominable Snowman BUT my ultimate favorite was Santa Claus and his wife Mrs. Clause. How could someone so cheerful and happy exist and be so giving? As a child with a single mom who didn’t get much, I wished that Santa would come bring me something and I was sure he would because I was that child that followed every rule and compliant to all things of authority. There was no doubt I was going to be on the “Nice” list. I wished daily that Santa would come and bring me a gift.
When Origami Owl revealed their new exclusive looks featuring Officially Licensed DreamWorks Animation Charms capturing the timeless TV classic, “Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town!” a whole bunch of childhood emotions I had tied to the movie came rolling in. This brought a huge smile to my heart and face.

But wait, there’s more. New Officially Licensed DreamWorks Animation Charms include a penguin wearing a scarf. This charm reminds me of their many movies full of penguins stemming that’s started over a decade ago. If you or your child is a fan of one or more of the Penguins of Madagascar movies, this is a sweet keepsake to wear on the wrist.
This limited-time set has 3 exclusively designed Charms featured in two predesigned looks that include a Living Locket®* and a Genuine Leather Wrap Bracelet to help you celebrate the spirit of the season and give yourself an extra smile with jewelry you won’t find anywhere else. These festive, holiday-themed looks are perfect for gifting and especially for those customers who are holiday Charm collectors!
And for icing on the cake, enjoy FREE {standard} SHIPPING on orders $over $85 USD | $110 CAD until December 14 at 11:59 p.m. CT!
