The majority of the country is still on lockdown with signs of it being lifted soon but no true certainty of how it will all pan out. Will my neighbors come springing out of their homes and head for the beaches and enjoy the reason why they pay so much to live in California, or will leaving our homes be for going to a job they wished leaving as soon as they arrive at 9am on a Monday morning?

As a stay at home mom (for almost 13 years now) and a mom to a newborn, neither scenarios apply to me. Even with no lockdown, I would be home with my 4 parenting and homeschooling them. No, it isn’t always rosy like carelessly laying on a sandy beach (which, btw, a mom of 4 cannot do) but it isn’t terrible that I cannot wait for Friday once we crack open the English and math books on our Monday mornings.

The comforts of staying at home is – many times – reflected in the beauty of a home and the beautiful and eye-pleasing things in it (at least on Instagram) but I’m going to out myself and tell you that our place is nowhere Instagram perfect. And our learning area is not Instagram homeschool inspiring. The area in my home I once proudly shared, a corner window view of the evening twilight with an IMac where I did all my origami owl sales duties, vlogging and blogging, no longer exists. That has become my 13 year old’s school desk in full disarray and I have come to doing sales from my bed on my iPhone 6s with a newborn on my chest. Yes, this is how I’m writing this right now.

See?

The years I’m mentally beat myself for not having that perfect room or that perfect space like everyone else has before I do what I have to do, I’ve had to let it go.

Even if I didn’t have a newborn but just me and my almost 3 year old, it would not look like the picture above. Her quietly sitting on my lap letting me tap on my phone to post my jewelry or check my business stats online with no interruptions? Not in my world.

Despite my current situation and with things I have and not have in my home, there are things that I am still able to do on top of home, mother, and schooling duties: I can still sell and promote jewelry online – specifically, Origami Ow jewelry – and financially be able to have money for the extras.

As I lay here, I am still able to…

I get to help people like you share….

… with our customizable jewelry. And…

Each year, Origami Owl, through your purchases and sales of little people like me (called Independent Designers), help make life a little sweeter for others by living out our beliefs:

Every month, a charity or cause is chosen to benefit from sales of monthly exclusives. Every year, a family is gifted something big and a wish is granted from proceeds of Live Sparkly charms. Through such tiny pieces of jewelry, big things have happened.

And with our ongoing mission of the company that has stayed the same since our inception in 2012, more good things can happen.

Interested in being part of the mission or the bigger picture?

Maybe you have some time to open up a laptop and do more than watch people fight over the validity of a stay at home order and if your cart depicts you as a hoarder or not (Confession: family of 6 here; they assume my Costco-shopping hubby is a hoarder 🤣).

Your role with Origami Owl would be more than just a consumer and recipient of free jewelry as a hostess, but you would be earning commissions with sales made as an Independent Designer from advertising and coordinating jewelry bars from home.

If you’ve gotten this far, you may be wondering, ā€œHOW?ā€

Origami Owl has so much training and support to help though Origami Owl’s scheduled communique. All you have to do is decide how much you want to ā€œcheck inā€ or do with Origami Owl. Check in daily, once a week or month? It’s up to you.

There’s no monthly minimum purchases required of you to make commissions of 20-50% of everything piece your sell as an Independent Designer. There’s none of that monthly pay-to-play like many at home product sales jobs.

Think on it.. maybe some day or will today be your day?

Becoming an Independent Designer from home gives you:

* Discounts on jewelry the moment you are in

* Ability to make money from home when people order through your FREE personal URL (no monthly fees for this)!

* Become a part of something bigger – a force for good – in the world

But wait, there’s more! The newly unveiled perks for those who do well with their sales, get to earn goodies under the new rewards program.

Here’s the gist of it:

For now, first principles and think if sales from home is for you. If it is, I’d love to help you navigate the next steps. If not, no worries. I’ll just leave the link right here: https://locketsandcharms.origamiowl.com/enroll

I still struggle with the looks of my place but I’ve become much calmer about it now. For this season, I’ll hang on what I can have someday (House 2, House 6, and House 1 combined). I’ll continue to focus on the fact that I get to stay home and all the things I can do in it, mess and all!

I’ve said, if I didn’t have a newborn nursing in demand, I would have painted all my cabinets white by now and my kids would have finished a school year’s workload months before the year was over. But I digress… my cabinets are still seaweed green as it has been since the 2012 purchase of our home and my kids are still on pace – even slower than before, actually – despite more time due to outside activities and places to go, removed from our calendar due to Covid19. On the bright side, lots of things we do now that we didn’t do before. More on that on a different blog post.

What will you be doing during this time? And the time after?

To DO or NOT to Do Origami Owl?

July 14, 2012 by Jennylou

I was perusing online in a respected online forum, I read someone post that that despite all the Origami Owl “hype” they have heard that people are no longer selling anymore because demand has died down. Really?!!Ā  The company just started taking Designers in 6 months ago and it has already died down? I beg to differ! This was their message to someone considering joining Origami Owl. Fair enough, they did mention that they are not an Origami Owl rep and this is simply what they “heard” online.

(Update March 2013: The newest person in my team is #23866.Ā  That means that the company has almost 23,000 reps in just a year’s time. There is STILL A WAITLIST TO GET IN and someone personally told me that they were #6000-something on the waitlist.Ā  The desire of people to become an Independent Designer with Origami Owl has not died down).

Since I am an Origami Owl rep, I thought it would be fitting to report what I know from personal experience and to share with you what I have seen in my Origami Owl circles.

Business may have faded for this person they heard from because they are out of friends and family to sell to.Ā  The reality is… unless one goes out of his immediate circle, business will stop. Unless one knows how to create recurring sales, leads, and repeat buyers from their immediate circle and beyond, business will stop.

A second reason as to why someone is not selling Origami Owl is simply because they are on vacation.Ā  The direct-sales industry (the category and business model that Origami Owl is) gives people the right to take a vacation at any time. July is summer and kids are out of school. People travel and have their hours filled.Ā  Yes, you can take your Origami Owl business with you but you may not have the dull on time ad ability to run business while on vacation.

Another reason someone may not be selling Origami Owl is because the Designer did not have such a strong start, got demotivated, and quit.Ā  But this is not limited to Origami Owl. Human nature, we don’t like to do what is not easy or avoid things that hurt.Ā  Having a bad launch party or hearing no’s or not getting enough yes’s can be a real blow to self-esteem and cause one to quit.Ā  This goes for any direct sales company or sales business: if people don’t have a strong start, the enthusiasm fades away.Ā  Unless they do something against it, the natural flow is to stop. One can simply choose to fold the business to avoid the not so fun that comes in this business, or work it.Ā  Think of it as what is is NET-WORK MARKETING…. cast a big net, work, and market the hell out of yourself!
Yes there are bumps in the road with home office, there are things that happen that you rather not happen, but every business has that and one just has to roll with the human errors that occur despite the best intentions.

Do I know of anyone who has personally quit quit?Ā  I know of one person who has and has signed a Designer Termination Agreement to make it official.Ā  Why did she quit?Ā  I personally asked her and she said, it was simply because she just didn’t want to do it anymore and was just bored with it all.Ā  That is what she said to me.Ā  While on the other end of the spectrum, someone mentioned last month that they have 50 people on the wait-list who are so patiently and excitedly waiting to sign up with them.Ā  How much more are joining than quitting?Ā  There are over 4500 on the wait-list.Ā  My upline started with Origami Owl in Dec and she has 300 people under her downline.Ā  300 in 3 months is impressive!

For everyone that has officially quit, I would think that there must be at least 500 that are joining.Ā  This business is easy, fun, financially rewarding, and most of all – there is nothing like it and nothing better than jewelry that you put together yourself.Ā  From Business Builder stand pint, it is amazing too because there isn’t another company that offer jewelry that looks like what Origami Owl has.Ā  When you see this jewelry, you know it is an Origami Owl locket.Ā  I don’t know, maybe it is just me, but I think that that is pretty neat!

***

Update March 2013 – I have been here one year and 2 months and I am so happy to be here.Ā  Not only is this “job” so much fun, but it is also so rewarding in a dozen ways.Ā  I say you do it!Ā  At the very least, you deserve to give yourself a chance to be successful at it.Ā  Join the wait list at https://locketsandcharms.origamiowl.com/enrollment/joinourteam and consider me as your Mentor #1186 (Jennylou Raya)
