Have questions about being an Origami Owl Independent Designer?  Ask me.  I am as realistic, real, and honest about it. I’m not here to blow smoke up anyone.

It is a commission sales type of work.  You make money from each piece you sell to others. You don’t have to personally buy a minimum a month for personal use in order for you to be paid your commissions on the products you’ve sold to your customers at retail (yes, such companies exists). Each piece you sell earns you 20-50% of the retail price. You are not obligated or forced to buy Origami Owl ever again just so you can have your sales commissions.

As with anything one puts time and money in, particularly business, there are always risks and benefits. Fortunately, the risks aren’t too high. As low as $49 to have the rights to promote and make a commitment to sell Origami Owl.  These rights continue as long as an Independent Designer is able to sell $250 in wholesale jewelry (the calculation is always based on the most recent 6 months in sales).  With this said, never put in more money you can afford to lose.

Never bite the promise of others that you can make money with it by doing almost nothing.  Again, with any business, side-hustle, and for anything to flourish, time, effort and skills are required for anything to turn out the way you would like – especially in commission sales.  Real estate agents make their money through commissions from sold and closing of real estate transactions.  They make nothing until that transaction is complete.  Acting and doing the activities as a real estate agent does not guarantee commission to all those who do the activities BUT those who are earning the commissions all performed the activities in order to make that commission.  No one closes or makes a commission without doing the work.  One may get lucky here and there but the longterm success is dependent on the work put in.  And for the record, you won’t make much money – or any money – just because you post your link online on your social accounts.  Desired outcomes increase when one makes a consistent effort over time, and putting in the laws of reaping and sowing by marketing the products and providing a service above all other designers.
